Federer, after being eliminated by Nadal from the seventh Roland Garros: "It was better. I was surprised how far I got "
    Tennis

Roger Federer on Friday, after being eliminated in the French Open semi-finals by Rafael Nadal, is surprised how far he has reached this competition on clay.

"The beginning was complicated by the wind, and we both knew that under these circumstances everything could happen because it was difficult to control things." I had mini-posibilities, but Nadal was better, the way he defends the clay is unique and only no one like him, it's amazing how he defends. "It was an extraordinary tournament for me, and people's support was bigger than ever, both at training and matches, and we played well and we were surprised how far we got. I know if I will return next year here, is what I always say when someone asks me about 2020. But it is certain I liked the return to slag, " said Federer, according to mark.com. Set to rise to a new career-high ranking of World No.2 following this tournament, Barty was three games from defeat in the semifinals against on-fire American Amanda Anisimova, and was faced with the task of defeating another inspired teenager in the final.

Aged 19, Vondrousova had yet to drop a set coming into the biggest match of her young career, avenging two clay court swing losses to Petra Martic and Johanna Konta en route to Saturday's clash.
