Big turn, Poketino took the phone in his hands and struck an angry rival!
Barcelona is hurrying to end the deal, namely, there is a real chance that Cutinho will accept the offer to go on loan, though he persistently refused.

The situation is next, Tottenham would take a salary of 12 million euros and pay another 25 million for a loan.

The Brazilian would play for a club that is not directly rival to Liverpool, the "Singers" would be able to buy him out at the end of the season.

But this is just the beginning, Barcelona wants to sell Rakitic as well, PSG is interested in him, but the two clubs do not agree on how much it is worth. The story is next, Barca would loan him to Paris, get rid of his paycheck, take Neymar, with an obligation to pay the PSG in two annual installments of 90 million each. That purchase of Rakitic would be part of the transfer at the end of the season, which would practically mean that Neymar would cost 130 million plus the Croatian national team.

The problem is that Rakitic is more interested in Inter and some of the PL clubs, so now we come to the situation that he needs to be persuaded. He has five million a year, if Barca also sells to Rafina, gets rid of his salary, that is already more than 20 million, which means almost payment of Neymar's income.

The Catalans are forced to do this, otherwise there is no chance of bringing Neymar, breaking the salary cap and making the financial situation untenable.

Neymar would reduce the PSG income of about 35 million to just over 20 if he returned to Camp Nou.

  • Rebellion is in fashion! Lukaku lost half a million, Dibala on "white bread" ?!
    AUTHOR: VLADIMIR STOJANOVIC

The two rebels targeted by their clubs, the exchange failed, have not changed their minds. What will United and Juventus do?

PHOTO Rebellion is in fashion! Lukaku lost half a million, Dibala na Photo: EPA-EFE / JULLIEN DE ROSA

There are still no solutions for transfers that are waiting, namely, until the end of the market in PL, when it comes to purchases it is just over 30 hours, the cases of Lukaku and Dibal are getting the most attention.

He trained Romelu Lukaku for two days with Anderlecht without the club's permission, fined half a million euros, but did not return to England, so this shows his intention to go to Inter or Juventus at any cost.

He is trying to get the club to cut the price, Inter will not pay 85 million euros, and since the exchange with Dibal there is nothing.

As for the Argentine, United refused, Tottenham's offer of 75 million euros was accepted, which Juve accepted, threatening Dibali that he would be "frozen" if he rejected it. His girlfriend insists the Argentine wants to go to London, but his managers' commissions were a problem when switching to Old Traford.

Now something else is at stake.

Specifically, Dibala asks for £ 300,000 a week, which might not be a problem for Tottenham, but for the locker room it is. An Argentine would be paid more than Harry Kane who earns 250,000.

Reportedly the first offer was around 10 million euros per season, Dibala is looking for 16, that's a really big difference. Still, there are indications that he is ready to compromise, but that he will agree to say 12 or 13, that is, the club and player may be in half. The Argentine, or his agents, are also ready to give up part of the commission in order to push the transfer.

Talking to Juventus, Dibala said he wanted to stay at the club, but was told that the Italian champion had decided to sell him in order to raise money for a new striker, Lukaku or Ikardi. Juventus wants to get rid of a few more football players, most notably Kedira and Matuidi, as well as Iguain or Mandzukic, in order to end the transitional period in plus, but also to reduce the huge amount they spend on salaries, primarily Ronald and De Licht.

  • With 7.16 meters in the long jump, the number one in the world

PHOTO Germany's World Cup hope: Mihambo recalls Drechsler

"The Finals" were in many ways a success - and most successful was probably Malaika Mihambo. The 25-year-old was the German long-jump champion with personal best, but in view of the World Cup at the end of September, she also caused a sensation in another discipline.

Who can jump 7.16 meters wide, is quickly titled as an aviator, even as a high-flyer. Malaika Mihambo is considered a new star of German athletics last weekend, at least since the German Championships started as "The Finals". In the field of the world's best long jumpers she is currently the number one, only Ese Brume (Nigeria, 7.05 meters) and the established Brittney Reese (US, 7.00) could crack in 2019 except Mihambo so far the seven-meter mark.

    Bianca Andreescu, Rogers Cup, Toronto

BNP Paribas Open champion Bianca Andreescu made a victorious return to action after missing much of the last five months due to a shoulder injury, rallying to defeat former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard in Toronto.
    DAVID KANE

TORONTO, Canada - Top-ranked Canadian teenager Bianca Andreescu thrilled the home crowd by winning her first match played since Roland Garros, surviving a tough challenge from compatriot and former World No.5 Eugenie Bouchard, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Rogers Cup.

"To be able to play in front of my home crowd is always a special feeling," she explained after the match. I've had many memories here. I played two years ago on that court, so I had a bit of experience of what to expect, but today was crazier than usual because I was playing a Canadian too. I'm just really happy with how I played today."

After winning the first and biggest title of her young career at the BNP Paribas Open, Andreescu has been hindered by a nagging shoulder injury - restricting her to just two tournaments since - but appears back to fighting form after a two hour, nine minute tussle on Centre Court.

"It's been a rollercoaster, but I've been preparing really well for the last couple weeks, and that preparation really showed tonight," she said during her on-court interview. "I'm feeling really good, no pain."

MORE DRAMA ON THE WAY AS MEN'S QUALIFIERS FOR TOKYO 2020 BEGIN ON FRIDAY

PHOTO Brazil celebrate their win over Italy in the final of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. They now begin their quest to defend their Olympic title, firstly seeking a ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Lausanne, Switzerland, August 7, 2019 - Following the excitement, suspense and drama of last weekend in the women's qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, more of the same is anticipated this weekend as 24 men's teams set off in search for six available tickets to the ultimate sporting event on the planet starting on Friday.

The 24 teams are divided into six pools of four each, with the top teams by Sunday evening punching their tickets for the Japanese capital next year.

They will be joining Japan, who as hosts have already secured one of the 12 available berths.

A further five teams will emerge in January from the Continental Olympic Qualifiying Tournaments, to complete the Tokyo 2020 lineup.

The men's tournaments, scheduled for this weekend:

    • Pool A (in Varna): Brazil, Egypt, Bulgaria, Puerto Rico.
    • Pool B (in Rotterdam): USA, Belgium, The Netherlands, Korea.
    • Pool C (in Bari): Italy, Serbia, Australia, Cameroon.
    • Pool D (in Gdansk): Poland, France, Slovenia, Tunisia.
    • Pool E (in Saint Petersburg): Russia, Iran, Cuba, Mexico.
    • Pool F (in Ningbo): Canada, Argentina, Finland, China.

Defending Olympic champions Brazil, who triumphed at home at Rio 2016 for their third Olympic gold in their history (after Barcelona 1992, Athens 2004 and Rio 2016) are on the Black Sea coast in Varna, up against hosts Bulgaria alongside Egypt and Puerto Rico.

Brazil are the only country to have played in every single edition of the Olympic Games since volleyball was introduced to the Olympic programme in Tokyo 1964.

PHOTO Poland with their 2019 Volleyball Nations League bronze medal, in their latest success before setting off for a ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, reigning world champions and Montreal 1976 Olympic gold medallists Poland face some very tough opposition when they host the likes of France, alongside Slovenia and Tunisia in Gdansk.

Rio 2016 silver medallists Italy will also need to overcome a huge hurdle when they meet Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medallists Serbia in Bari - and the rest of the opposition, Australia and Cameroon, are not to be taken lightly either.

PHOTO USA celebrate their win over Russia at the Maracanazinho for the bronze medal of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Now they seek more Olympic glory as they embark on the Road to Tokyo 2020.

Three-time Olympic champions USA (Los Angeles 1984, Seoul 1988 and Beijing 2008) are on the road in their quest to make Tokyo 2020, travelling to Rotterdam to face hosts the Netherlands (the Atlanta 1996 Olympic gold medallists), Belgium and Korea. The Americans were bronze medallists last time around in Rio 2016.

Four-time Olympic champions (including as USSR) Russia, however, are at home in Saint Petersburg, but face a tough challenge from Iran. The reigning European champions also meet Cuba and Mexico.

PHOTO Russia celebrate their 2019 Volleyball Nations League title last month, just before embarking on their quest for a ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

This is the only qualification pool in which all four participants had played in Rio 2016. Russia finished fourth after blowing a two-set lead against USA in the bronze medal match - Cuba and Mexico failed to make it out of pool play.

And finally, Argentina and Canada will fight it out in Ningbo, where they also face hosts China and Finland for a spot at Tokyo 2020. Both the North and South Americans ranked 5th in Rio 2016, knocked out in quarterfinals - Argentina by Brazil and Canada by Russia.

Halep puts brakes on Brady upset bid in marathon Toronto opener

Wimbledon champion Simona Halep was forced to battle back from a set down against Jennifer Brady to open her Rogers Cup title defence.
    ALEX MACPHERSON

TORONTO, Canada - No.4 seed Simona Halep kicked off her Rogers Cup title defence with a thrilling and at times arduous three-set epic against qualifier Jennifer Brady, eventually coming through 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(5) in two hours and 26 minutes to reach the third round.

In her first match since playing the "best match of her career" to win Wimbledon with a stunning 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Serena Williams in the final, Halep spent much of today struggling to approach the same accuracy or consistency. Kept at bay for large stretches of the contest by Brady's heavy forehand and strong serve, the former World No.1 racked up an unusually high total of 33 unforced errors and found herself unable to sustain any scoreboard momentum.

Brady, though, made an immediate statement of intent, rocketing out of the gates with three aces in her first two service games and breaking Halep to 15 as the two-time major winner took her time in finding her rhythm. Once the Romanian had settled, she appeared to have found a winning strategy as she peppered the more error-prone Brady backhand relentlessly, and captured two consecutive deuce games to level at 3-3 - but, four holds later and serving to stay in the set, it was Halep who suddenly threw in a loose service game, with four routine errors handing the opening act to Brady.

The two-time major winner again seemed to have found her best form as the second set got under way, forcing errors from Brady with improved rallying - but, in what would be a pattern over the course of the set, was quickly pegged back to 2-2 by the battling American. Opening up the court to find some marvellous angles, Halep broke again for 4-3 - but, serving for the set, lapsed as suddenly and completely as she had to lose the first set.

On return, Halep's accuracy reappeared as she once again dominated off the ground to move up 6-5 - but it took all of the 27-year-old's fighting spirit to close the set out with a service game that could have swung either way, saving another break-back point before summoning a brilliant forehand and a fine serve to take her second set point.

As if unleashed, Halep was finally able to find her best tennis for an extended length of time, smothering the World No.76 with redirection and smart shot selection, particularly finding joy with wrongfooting plays. Sixteen of the first 20 points of the decider went Halep's way as she rapidly built a 4-0 lead.

But Halep's purple patch could not take her over the line. A handful more loose errors rejuvenated Brady, and the 25-year-old needed no further encouragement to roar back into the match. Striking her forehand with the relish she had started the match with, Brady reeled off five straight games to reach the brink of victory for the first time at 5-4.
