From February 2020, Howest (Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen) offers the postgraduate degree Digital Sports Marketing & Communication, in which the latest trends in digital sports marketing and communication are discussed. Teachers with extensive experience in the sports world present best practices and share their own experiences with regard to digital storytelling, social media, data-driven marketing, trends and the future of sport.

Through a series of evening presentations, the participants are taught to arm themselves with a digital future strategy. "By participants we mainly mean professionals with a passion for sports", explains initiator Joost Vansteenkiste. “We are thinking of employees of sports clubs, federations, companies and organizations active in the sports sector. In addition to presentations, there are also interactive sessions with the guest speakers, giving participants the opportunity to develop an extensive network in the sports world. In addition, each participant works out their own specific case, which is adjusted during the postgraduate course by Howest experts. ”
The postgraduate course, which will take place at the Sports Innovation Campus in Bruges from February to June 2020, is an initiative of lecturers from the Howest study programs Sports & Exercise, Business Management and (Sports) Journalism. It is set up as a postgraduate degree, therefore follows a bachelor's or master's degree and gives the right to a postgraduate certificate.
