  • U4GM PoE 2 Adaptive Alloy Farming Guide
When a late-game boss forces constant movement, a Staff's extra Fire damage can disappear at exactly the moment your DPS needs to hold steady: the modifier only works while Runic Ward is missing. That makes Adaptive Alloy a gear decision with a condition to manage, not a free upgrade. Before spending one, compare the affixes you could lose against the time your build can realistically keep that condition active; checking the going cost of Path of Exile 2 Currency can also help you decide whether this attempt belongs on your main item or a spare. In PoE 2, the Alloy removes one random modifier from a Rare item and replaces it with a type-specific modifier, so a strong result still carries a real opportunity cost.

Make the lost affix part of the price

Adaptive Alloy makes the most sense when the item is already close to finished. A Rare with several valuable affixes may be worth the risk if its weakest modifier is expendable and the Alloy result directly supports your build. A mediocre item is different: replacing one modifier does not repair poor base stats or a pile of affixes that do little for your loadout. Before using it, name the modifier you are willing to lose. If losing that affix would push a resistance below its hard cap, reduce your effective HP through weaker defenses, or break a stat breakpoint, the item is not ready. The target result has to earn its place against that specific cost.

Runic Ward turns the affix into a timing test

Staffs can gain 42-52% of Damage as Extra Fire Damage while Runic Ward is missing; Wands receive 21-26%. Gloves can gain 10-15% increased Attack Speed under the same condition. Those numbers only matter during their actual uptime. Against enemies that leave a clear opening after an attack, a player may be able to spend that window dealing damage without Runic Ward. Against fast bosses, ranged pressure, or encounters that keep the arena covered, staying exposed can force movement or defensive play and erase the expected DPS gain. Track how often you can attack during the condition, not just the affix's listed value.

Sceptres follow a different route, with an Alloy result tied to Puppet Master. That can suit a build whose skill setup already makes use of the modifier, but it is less compelling when the effect does not fit the way you deal damage. The same practical check applies across slots: will the new affix improve your real combat loop, or merely look impressive in the item panel? Attack Speed is useful only when it improves attacks you can safely complete. Extra Fire damage needs enough uninterrupted time to contribute. If animation lock leaves you taking hits before you can move, a theoretical burst window may cost more effective health than it returns in damage.

Save the Alloy for a deliberate finish

Build the item around its required base and core affixes first, then weigh the Alloy against the modifier it may remove. This order also makes it easier to compare the result with other gear available through PoE 2's broader crafting and loot progression. Do not commit a valuable Rare just because the type-specific outcome is guaranteed; the replacement is predictable, but the lost affix is not. Staff and Wand players should test whether their defenses can support repeated Runic Ward downtime, while Gloves users should check that the Attack Speed condition fits their usual fights. Adaptive Alloy is best for players who can identify both the affix they can spare and the encounter where the new one pays off. If a purchase is part of that plan, compare the cost of cheap Path of Exile 2 Currency with the value of the item you are risking before you commit.

Adaptive Alloy makes PoE 2 rare upgrades more deliberate, so having the right currency ready helps when a strong base needs one final improvement. • Master Splinter of Anguish Builds With U4GM Diablo 4 S15 Guide

Diablo 4 Season 15 introduces Soul Splinters, giving players another way to push their builds beyond normal gear upgrades. These socketable items come with both a bonus and a drawback, so choosing the right one is not simply a matter of picking the biggest numbers. If you are already preparing your character for endgame farming, having enough Diablo 4 Gold for upgrades, Masterworking, and other expenses can make the gearing process much smoother.

    What Is Splinter of Anguish?

Splinter of Anguish is the Soul Splinter associated with Andariel. It focuses on Fire Resistance while providing two highly desirable offensive stats: Attack Speed and Critical Strike Chance.

Soul Splinters can be placed into Jewelry sockets, including Rings and Amulets. You can equip up to three Splinters at the same time, which allows you to combine different effects for your build.

The important part is that Anguish is not a free damage upgrade. Its bonus comes with a resource penalty that needs to be planned around.

    Splinter of Anguish Effects

The Splinter provides Fire Resistance along with equal increases to Attack Speed and Critical Strike Chance. The numbers become much more impressive as you move toward higher rarity versions.

    The Abyssal version provides:

    • 4,375 Fire Resistance
    • 35% Attack Speed
    • 35% Critical Strike Chance
    • 30% increased Primary Resource costs

That last effect applies regardless of rarity. In other words, upgrading Anguish makes its offensive benefits stronger, but it does not remove the resource penalty.

For players who want to buy Diablo 4 Gold, it is worth remembering that resource problems should be solved through the build itself rather than trying to compensate for them with unrelated gear upgrades.

How Does the Resource Penalty Work?

The 30% resource-cost increase affects your class's Primary Resource:

    • Barbarian: Fury
    • Sorcerer: Mana
    • Rogue: Energy
    • Druid: Spirit
    • Necromancer: Essence

This can be barely noticeable on a build with strong resource generation, but it becomes painful when your main skill already has a high cost.

Before equipping Anguish, check how often your build can regenerate resources during normal combat. Boss fights are particularly important because there are fewer enemies around to trigger certain resource-generating effects.

    Which Builds Should Use Anguish?

Splinter of Anguish is most comfortable on fast builds that already generate resources consistently.

It works particularly well with setups that have:

    • High Attack Speed
    • Frequent Critical Hits
    • Resource generation on critical attacks
    • Resource cost reduction
    • Passive regeneration
    • Skills that generate resources through repeated hits

Attack Speed is especially useful when it also increases the frequency of your resource-generation effects. This can create a useful cycle where faster attacks help offset the additional resource costs.

On the other hand, builds that constantly run out of Mana, Fury, Energy, Spirit, or Essence may find the Splinter difficult to maintain.

How to Farm Splinter of Anguish

The best way to specifically target Anguish is to run Waking Nightmares and Nightmare Dungeons with Ruby Reserve modifiers.

Ruby Reserve is closely connected with Anguish, making these activities useful when you are trying to improve your chances of finding this particular Splinter.

    A practical farming loop is:

    1. Find a Nightmare Dungeon with the appropriate Ruby Reserve modifier.
    2. Clear the dungeon as quickly as your build allows.
    3. Defeat the final boss.
    4. Check dungeon rewards and chests for Soul Splinters.
    5. Repeat the process with another suitable dungeon.

Andariel is also connected to Anguish through the seasonal loot system, so players who already farm her can potentially work toward the Splinter while collecting other endgame rewards.

If you are trying to keep farming costs under control, cheap Diablo 4 Gold can be useful when planning your broader upgrade budget.

Upgrade Anguish With the Horadric Cube

Finding a duplicate Anguish does not mean the item is useless. Season 15's Amalgamation system allows players to combine Soul Splinters of the same type and rarity.

This gives you a straightforward upgrade path:

Duplicate Splinters → Amalgamation → Higher Rarity → Stronger Anguish

Continue combining compatible Splinters as you collect them until you eventually reach the Abyssal version.

Do not immediately throw away lower-rarity duplicates. They can contribute directly toward improving the Splinter you actually want.
