  • VIDEO The ReCup Arena, a football field built with 2018 World Cup goblets
    The 05/04/2019 , updated on 05/04/2019 at 17:49

A football field built from 50,000 recycled cups has just been inaugurated in Russia.
This Thursday, a football field designed from 50,000 recycled cups was inaugurated in Sochi (Russia). For this event, distinguished guests were invited, such as the 2006 world champion Marco Materazzi, the Krasnodar region sports minister Andrei Markov, as well as the marketing director of AB InBev Efes, the original group of the project.

The sports facility, measuring 65 meters by 42 meters and baptized "ReCup Arena" ("cup" means both "cup" and "cup" in English, ed) is the work of one of the official sponsors of the FIFA World Cup, Budweiser (owned by the AB InBev Efes brewery group), in collaboration with the local World Cup organizing committee. This initiative is in line with Budweiser's "eco-friendly" policy, which has committed, among other things, to supply each of the beer bottles that the brand brews into renewable electricity by 2025.

More than 3 million Budweiser Red Light cups were used at the 2018 World Cup, in the stadiums and in the Fan Fests. Thanks to a part of them and 2 tons of recycled plastic, the ground is provided with a particularly resistant coating and singular colors. This project, moreover, makes it possible to preserve the " legacy of the World Cup ", as the Italian Marco Materazzi pointed out.

Denver Nuggets - Portland Trail Blazzers 119-110
Golden State Warriors - Cleveland Cavaliers 120-114
LA Clippers - LA Lakers 117-122
Friday night games made light on the teams in the West Conference playoffs. The loser loser is the Los Angeles Lakers, the King James team, who has no chance to fight for the title. For the eight qualifying teams, the war has not ended. It remains to establish their final position between the top eight who will decide how they will mate in the next stage.
Teams Qualified at the Eastern Conference : Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazzers, Utah Jazz, LA Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs.
    What's Changing :
Golden State Warriors can secure their first position in the West Conference standings with another victory in the last three matches, or if Denver loses at least one match.
Denver Nuggets can secure second place in the Conference with two wins in the last three games. He can also hope for the first position if he wins all his matches and Golden State loses all three matches he has to fight.
Houston Rockets has already secured 3rd place in the Conference, but can also climb to the second position if he wins the last two matches and Denver loses twice in the last three games.
Portland Trail Blazzers is in fourth place and can not climb. But he is bound to win all the way to the end to make sure he keeps his position.
Utah Jazz ranks fifth, but still hopes for the fourth position, which gives him the advantage of his own playoffs. The difference to Portland is one win, and both teams have three matches.
LA Clippers lost any chance of going up sixth after Lakers failed. In addition, he has only one victory ahead of the eighth place, and the last matches are with Golden State and Utah.
Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs are on a sixth place victory, both of which are aimed at him and which would provide a match against Houston Rockets in the playoffs.
Much more balanced are things in the Eastern Conference, where three more playoffs are still available. Five teams are fighting for the last three places, when there are three rounds to play. Instead, Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers are sure of the top three places in that order.

Qualified teams in the playoffs : Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers

Fight for the last three places : Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets

    What's Happening :

Boston Celtics is in pole position for fourth place. He still needs a win in the last two matches, or Indiana Pacers to lose at least one match in the last two. In any case, the duel between the two teams in the playoffs is already set, and the stake is only the advantage of the field in the event of a decisive match.
Orlando Magic climbed to sixth place after the Hawks victory. He can secure his place in the playoff this weekend if Miami and Charlotte lose.
Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat are separated by a single win and scheduled the match directly in the final round.
Charlotte Hornets is the two-time victory eighth place. He needs the winners on the line in the last two matches, but also a game of favorable results.
