Research shows great vulnerability of amateur football to criminal money

A study in Brabant and Zeeland has shown that amateur football incorrectly accepts money from criminals. "Clubs are not aware of the risk," notes Jeroen van den Broek, project manager at the Undermining Task Force in this part of the Netherlands. The Task Force is primarily concerned with social resilience to issues such as money laundering. Van den Broek took the initiative to interview all sixteen top amateur clubs in this district about possible interference by criminals.
Of the sixteen associations from the Second and Third Division and the big league in this area, the researchers from twelve clubs received a positive response. "There was already a project under the amateur clubs. Football is taking an important position in society." And appears susceptible and vulnerable to unwanted benefactors, who, for example, try to launder their black money as a sponsor.
