The London audience had a hostile attitude towards Novak Djokovic, in the Serbian losing match, score 4-6, 3-6 in front of Federer, in the last match of the group "Bjorn Borg". Former tennis champions have condemned the attitude of supporters at the O2 Arena.
After a victory and a defeat in the first two games of the group, Federer and Djokovic played a match of vital importance, as the winner would qualify further in the semifinals of the competition.
Although Nole certainly enjoys significant fan support, his popularity is much lower than Federer's, so the Serb hit the public's hostility. The problem is that supporters have often gone beyond the limit, applauding the double mistakes made by "Djoker" or his mistakes. Moreover, at times the Serb was evicted by certain fans, which is unacceptable. This disturbed many former tennis players, who felt the need to take a stand.
Here's what Greg Rusedski, Annabel Croft and Daniela Hantuchova said about metro.co.uk.
" I think it is disrespectful to applaud a double mistake. It is too much. It does not bother me that the fans support one to the detriment of the other, it is their decision, but there is a barrier that you cannot and must not overcome when it comes to it. Tennis fans seemed to be in for Nole's head, who was extremely frustrated to applaud his mistakes. After a double mistake, the fans behaved like a great Federer winning point, and Nole committed immediately. One more double. He didn't recover after that episode, he was mentally destroyed | Greg Rusedski "
" I felt sad for Novak tonight. He is a great, great champion. Someone who has achieved such performances, who has given so much to tennis does not deserve that much | Annabel Croft "
" I felt sorry for him, it means so much to world tennis. What do he have to do to be respected by the public? He didn't even greet the public when he left the arena, which is understandable. you can be applauded when you make double mistakes, it charges you negatively, it is utter frustration. It was a disrespect to a player who did so much | Daniela Hantuchova "
Three players are already qualified in the semifinals of the London competition: Dominic Thiem , Roger Federer and Stefanos Tsitsipas . The last player to go in the "ace of aces" will choose between Nadal and Zverev, the first chance of the German.
Thanks to Federer's victory last night, Nole not only missed qualifying in the Champions Tournament semifinals, but also lost any chance of being number one at the end of the season, for the sixth time in his career (absolute record, which he would be shared with Pete Sampras).

Dual-Career Management: Challenges and risks inherent in elite sporting careers
In the last decade, the concept of dual-career management has received considerable attention from all stakeholders of sport in Europe. This was as a result of growing concern that young elite sports persons were finding it increasingly challenging to combine their sport and education while actively competing, often compromising to a large extent their lifestyles and post-athletic career planning. The findings from one of the earlier pan-European research studies indicated strongly that elite athletes often struggle to achieve a balance between sporting, academic and personal life due to the intensive training and competition requirements placed upon them. The grueling physical demands of elite sport coupled with long hours needed in order to compete at a high level can have a detrimental effect on an athlete’s health and well-being. Given the crucial role that sport holds in athletes’ lives, it is rarely the aspect that gets compromised, in turn, other aspects such as education and personal life tend to bear the brunt. The ultimate pursuit of sporting success can lead to varying degrees of compromise often depending upon the sport, the individual and the country they represent.
